Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Saturday, 29 March 2014

Hey Dolls.
I read a ton of amazing reviews about the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.. so I obviously needed it in my life. I spent a few days hunting it down & when I found it... I was extremely excited. I have been using it for a while now, so I thought it was about time I shared my thoughts.

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water comes packed in a large, round bottle with a pink lid that flips open to dispense product. It contains a whopping 400ml of product that Garnier claim will give 200 uses. I find it a little difficult to get enough product out to remove my make up, so I usually end up dispensing to much which ends in me putting to much pressure on the cotton pad & getting it into my eyes or I'm just left with a visibly soaking face.

The cleanser water itself is unscented & suitable for all skin types. It removes face products like a dream, it feels really gentle & soothing on the skin but when it comes to mascara/eyeliner, I had to really rub at my eye area to remove it & even then it took 2-3 cotton pads per eye for it to be completely gone. My eyes were left feeling sore & quite watery.. I am now only using it to remove face make up but I feel like a cleansing water that states it can be used on face, eyes & lips..should work well for all of those things.
After reading a ton of amazing reviews that made this seem like the best cleansing water out there, I am incredibly disappointed. It didn't remove eye make up well & that part of your face, you need something to be as gentle & fuss free as possible.
I would like to say that just because I am not a fan of the Garnier Cleansing Water, you may adore it. It retails for £4.99 at Boots, Feel Unique & Superdrug.

Are you a fan of micellar waters? What is your favourite way to remove make up?

Hey Dolls.
Today I thought I'd show you some of the things I have been lusting after this week. I'm on the hunt for the perfect concealer, I adore my Collection Lasting Perfection but lately I have wanted to see if there is anything better. I have a mini version of the Benefit boi-ing concealer & I adore it, so having the full size would be nice. After trying the Avène Hydrating Soothing Serum & loving it, I want to try a few more bits from the brand. Two of my most favourite things about make up is foundation & primer, they both help to make my skin look flawless. I have read some good things about the newest offering from L'Oreal & the No7 colour calming primer.

Have you tried any of these products? What's on your wishlist?

Elf Studio Matte Lip Colour - Tea Rose

Tuesday, 25 March 2014

Hey Dolls.
While I was in Cardiff, I picked up this beautiful Matte Lip Colour in Tea Rose from Elf. I originally wanted Rich Red but as they didn't have that in stock I decided to opt for a shade I wouldn't usually go for. I have been using it non stop ever since so I thought I would share my thoughts with you.

The Elf Studio Matte Lip Colour has sleek matte black packaging. At the bottom of the packaging it has a swatch of the shade you have chosen which is pretty much identical to the actual colour of the crayon. What I like most about the packaging is that they twist up, so there is none of fuss that comes with products that need to be sharpened.

Tea Rose is a beautiful muted mauve shade. It glides on to the lips with ease & doesn't accentuate any dry patches at all. Once applied it dries down to a matte finish but doesn't leave lips feeling dry or tight. It is highly pigmented & has incredible staying power - it does start to fade after a good five or six hours but leaves a subtle hint of colour on the lips.

I have heard a lot of people saying this shades doesn't suit their pale skin but I really love the way this looks on me especially on a  minimal make up day. It is so easy to apply & doesn't feel like you have anything at all on your lips. I will definitely be picking up more shades in the future.

Are you a fan of Elf? What are your thoughts?

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara

Saturday, 22 March 2014

Hey Dolls.
A while ago, Superdrug had a 3for2 offer on so I picked up two foundations & as they were out of stock of the one I originally intended to get, I just added the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara to my basket & headed to checkout. When it arrived I just chucked it into my 'things to review' bag & forgot about it. I have recently got it out to try it & even though this is the second day it has graced my lashes..I couldn't wait any longer to tell you about it.

Let's talk about the packaging.
So the tube is a bright shiny yellow & it has bold black writing. I actually really like it, the almost in your face colour makes it easy to find in my make up bag & the lid makes a little clicking noise when screwed back on which I like as then I know it's secure.

The mascara has a plastic wand, the teeth are widely set apart so it makes it easier to grab every lash & comb through them to make sure they are perfectly defined & clump free. I have very short & fair lashes so after using this & seeing how much longer, thicker & blacker than black my lashes were made me fall in love instantly! The mascara lasts all day long with no flaking or smudging to be seen [even when a sleepy Ashley decided it's a good idea to rub her eyes] The mascara is a dream to remove, one cotton pad for each eye & a tiny bit of micellar water & after a couple of seconds.. your good to go.

All in all, I am incredibly impressed with this mascara. It makes my lashes look amazing & stays put all day until I want to remove it.

You can purchase the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara on the Superdrug website for £7.99 & it is currently on a buy 1 get 2nds half price offer.

Are you a fan of Rimmel London mascaras? What are your thoughts?

Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum

Thursday, 20 March 2014

 Hey Dolls.
My skin has been somewhat of a nightmare lately, it has become incredibly sensitive & it is definitely lacking moisture. Escentual tweeted asking if any bloggers would be interested in trying the Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum, I was very interested as I have no idea what products to use to help soothe my skin as I have never experienced it being this sensitive before.

The Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum comes packaged in a beautiful frosted glass bottle with orange & black writing. The glass bottle shows you exactly how much product you have left which I think is great for people who like to re purchase before the product has ran out. It has a pump applicator which makes it easy to dispense & there will be no wasted product.

The serum has a light, almost gel like formula, it glides on to the skin leaving it feeling soft, supple & hydrated. A little bit of product really does go a long way, I use two small pumps for my entire face & neck, the serum absorbs quickly & leaves a slight cooling sensation on the skin. I apply this every morning & night after double cleansing & no irritation has occurred what so ever. My skin feels healthy again, I don't have to worry about applying something & having it become irritated because the serum acts like a protective layer over my skin. It has a very subtle fragrance but once applied it vanishes - I think this serum would be great for all skin types.

All in all, I have loved incorporating this serum into my skin care routine. It has made a massive difference to how my skin looks & feels.

You can purchase the Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum for £12.75 on the Escentual website until the end of March. RRP £17.

Blog Sale Bargains #5

Tuesday, 18 March 2014

Hey Dolls.
As you may already know..I adore blog sales. You can find some amazing things for incredible prices. I have recently stumbled upon two amazing bargains that I couldn't really say no to.

While I was browsing on Twitter, I noticed that Michelle was selling the L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation for £6 including p+p. I had been after this for some time but as I had read some mixed reviews so I wasn't to sure if I should get it or not but with £4 off the retail price & the shade I was after..I couldn't really say no. I am yet to try it but I have swatched it & it seems like a good colour match. Also the bottle is a lot smaller than I thought it would be but still beautiful.

I then decided that I wanted to find some more bargains, I typed #blogsale into twitter & I saw that Laura was having one. I didn't really see anything I wanted until I saw a beautiful Nars eyeshadow duo in Alhambra. I quickly asked if it was still available & thankfully it was, it was £9 with p+p which is incredible considering their eyeshadow duo's usually retail at around £20+. I actually tried this out today, it has a beautiful combination of peachy pink & gold shades & they really are incredible.

So those are my blog sale bargains. Have you found any bargains lately?

I shall be reviewing both products soon, if you have tried either leave your thoughts in the comments below.

A Trip To The Museum

Saturday, 15 March 2014

 Hey Dolls.
On Wednesday Matt had an appointment so I decided to tag along as I had nothing to do until the afternoon. As Matt's appointment finished earlier then we thought, we decided to pop into the museum & have a little look around before catching the train home. I only took a few photos as some of the things were restricted but we still had a lovely time so I thought I'd share the photos with you.

There was one other photo but for some reason it looked incredibly I had taken a photo of a photo :/

I really enjoy looking around museum's, It's something we have never done together. We also popped into the gift shop where I bought my dad a WWII pin & some toffee waffles for myself which weren't very nice. Matt bought me & his mum a beautiful bracelet each, himself a pen & his dad a WWII medal. Everything was so lovely in the gift shop & I'm glad I got a souvenir of our little day out. I didn't get Matt anything from the museum because well there wasn't really anything he wanted so I treated him to a nice dinner from the fish shop. You're probably thinking that's not much of a treat but Matt & I don't eat out often..pretty much never so it was very nice.

I feel like I'm rambling a bit so I think I'll end the post here. All in all, Matt & I had a lovely day out considering both out appointments made the day seem a bit dull.

Have you had a nice day out lately?

Maybelline Colour Show Street Artist Top Coat - Boom Box Black

Friday, 14 March 2014

Hey Dolls.
Today I want to talk about a product that featured in my recent haul. It is the Maybelline Colour Show Street Artist Top Coat - Boom Box Black.

I love polishes like this! They make you nails look like you have put effort in but really it's taken seconds. The Street Artist polishes contain different shaped mint green & black particles. It applies evenly & only requires one coat to cover the entire nail. I think it would look amazing on a range of colours but for now I have only tried it over black & white polishes. Like most top coats, it dries fairly quickly but doesn't leave a rough feeling on the nail.

I will definitely be trying out the other shades, what do you think of the Street Artist polishes?

Hey Dolls.
So another week has gone which means lots more things added to my wishlist. So I thought I'd share them with you.

Loving Lately #2

Wednesday, 12 March 2014

Hey Dolls.
Today I thought about a few products that I have been loving. I have had them all for quite a while but lately they have been my go to products to use everyday.

YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara
This mascara has gotten a lot of mixed reviews but I personally love it. It lengthens & adds a lot of volume to my lashes, it holds a nice curl & there is no smudging/flaking of any kind. The only downside is that I have to use the Benefit They're Real mascara because it does such an amazing job at separating lashes as the YSL one can get a little clumpy after one application.

Benefit Boi-Ing Concealer [ the lightest shade ]
This was in a little set I bought & even though I really like it, I didn't use it that much. I decided I would get it out after having some horrendous dark circles & I have been using it everyday since. It is quite a thick concealer but it blends easily, doesn't sink into fine lines & most importantly keeps my dark circles hidden all day.
Maybelline Brow Drama - Dark Blonde
Honestly, I've become very lazy when it comes to my brows. I want perfect brows but if I fill them in with a pencil..I tend to make them look more uneven or press to hard so they look fake D: So, lately I have been just running this through my brows & I've been loving it. It makes my brows look 'done' with minimal effort & it doesn't leave them feeling sticky or looking unnatural. The brush makes it super easy to shape them & once it sets, they stay in place all day.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush
I am forever changing the brush I use to apply foundation but I think this is the one! The brush is incredibly soft, it blends foundation easily without leaving any streaks. I get a flawless finish every time I use this brush.

So those are the products I have been loving lately. Have you tried any of them? What are your thoughts?

What I've Bought #15

Tuesday, 11 March 2014

Hey Dolls.
First of all, I would like to apologize for being a little MIA lately. I have had a serious bloggers block D: but.. Yesterday Matt, my dad & I went to Cardiff to do a little shopping & have some lunch. We had a lovely day out. The weather was great, McDonald's is still as delicious as ever & I bought some lovely things.. So I thought I'd share them with you.

After having a look around H&M, I went into Mac to finally spend my giftcard that I have had for months. I picked up two eyeshadows in Satin Taupe & Woodwinked as they have both been on my list of things to get for a long time & the Pro Longwear concealer in NC15 after asking the lovely Latasha for a bit of advice but I have picked up the one for the wrong undertones but I'm sure it will work fine.

Then we went to good old Primark..well I did, Dad & Matt hunted down Game. I didn't pick up much but I adore everything! Especially the amazing Satchel for a bargain at £10! I also picked up some Marvel pjs, two basic tshirts - one in grey & one in lilac, two pairs of skinnies - one black [must have!] & one in dark blue. I then spotted this beautiful necklace & a lovely earring set so I had to get those.

I spotted Elf as we were having a wonder around & I just can't explain how excited I was! Unfortunately they didn't have one of the things I was after but I did pick up two other bits. I wanted a Matte Lip Colour but they didn't have the shade I would normally choose [red] so I chose Tea Rose instead which is a very lovely pinky mauve shade & I also picked up the eyelid primer as my trusty Mua one has nearly run out.

Now for some random bits! I went into Superdrug & only bought one thing. Mainly because they didn't have the shade I wanted in the Sleek Correcter & Concealer palette so I was slightly disappointed as the same thing happened the last time I went to Cardiff but it was the Blush By 3 - Lace instead D: I picked up the Maybelline Street Artist - Boom Box Black which I have seen on lots of blogs & I'm so excited to try it out.

I went into Lush to pick up something for my friend Jen as we are doing an easter beauty box swap. When I was paying for that thing, the lady asked me if I wanted to purchase a sample of the hand & body lotion called Charity Pot. I was happy to purchase it as the money goes to charity.

I then went into poundworld/land... I finally found some Rhubarb & Custard flavoured sweets, I have been after these for so long! I also picked up some MilkyWay Crispy Rolls, these are my favourite chocolate ever! I picked up two new notebooks as I've nearly finished the one I have now. I have only taken a photo of one because they have the exact same design. I also picked up some dog treats but they have already been put away & I also got some Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo & Conditioner but that's at my boyfriends house for when I stay at his place.

So that's everything I bought, I am very happy with my purchases & I hope you guys enjoyed this post.

Have you bought anything lately? Leave me links in the comments below (:
